South Padre Island

A few weeks ago, church was cancelled because of the swine flu, so we decided to go explore the nature god gave us. We headed to South Padre Island about 30 minutes away. It was fun, but the beaches weren't as pretty as I was expecting, but I hear the north part of the island is better. We still had a blast!

South Padre Island, cont'd

You'll have to click on the bottom picture to really see it but those birds would fly in a line and stay so close to the water. It was neat looking. Also a jellyfish washed on shore! At that point, Allie and I were done. The fellas weren't as cautious.

Here are this weeks posts.

Nothing on Texas yet. I'm catching up. Also, this is an unfamiliar computer so I'm trying to figure out how to upload videos. My goal is to post pictures every sunday....maybe more often. Who knows? Still to post; Palisade lake, Roadtrip to Texas, Texas itself, and South Padre Island.

Happy Mothers Day! I've gotten spoiled today. Breakfast in bed, a massage while Allie napped, and now time to myself so I can blog. Love all y'all mothers!

PS I picked up an awesome new phrase. They don't say "That's bull crap!" here. They say "horse dukey!" But you have to say it with the accent. It's great.

Hiking day two

This is up the canyon off flying J. I've been up the canyon a million and one times, but I had never gone this far up. It was gorgeous! We even discovered a waterfall.

Kissing Rocks Day 1

It was kind of creepy, but during our whole hike these crows were watching us while sitting on a skull shaped rock.

More Day 1

Doesn't this tree look like it's crawling over the rock? We imagined it hoarsely whispering "Water.....water..."

Reinacting our first kiss

While in Richfield, my mom tried to get rid of us as much as possible so she could hog Allie to herself. We hiked a lot. The first day, we hiked to where we shared our first kiss-under a rock on top of a hill.
