Um, I'd like to file a complaint.

Trevor bought my ring too large. We called the store to ask them how long it would take to resize it. They told us 7-10 days. We brought it in, and they told us 12 days, which to you guys might not seem like much more of a difference, but to a girl who is DIEING to show it off, it's forever. Especially when she's already had to go to church twice unable to show it to everyone. Well, the twelve days are up, and we are now standing at two weeks, and it is still not in. Not only that, but when we call, the lady is SO rude on the phone about it. This is sort of what it looks like, except mine is white gold. It's a little different, but you get the idea.

She's Trevana's sister.

Meet Trevana

Isn't she pretty? She's my new best friend. My girls did this.

We can learn something new every day, but some lessons are bigger than others.

Today, I learned for myself what happens when you put foil in the microwave. I have heard about it, but I actually got to see it in real life!

I was making lunch for myself at my boss' house. They put their peanut butter in the fridge, and that makes it hard. I like it really soft, so I thought I'd stick it in the microwave for about 20 seconds. 15 seconds later WEIRD flashy things started happening. I guess there was some leftover foil on the top from the seal. Shhh. Don't tell my bosses.

Mi Casa

I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you one of my favorite things about my apartment: Cooking is teamwork. Although we've disabled the hyper-sensitive alarm in the kitchen, cooking is still a team sport. While one chops and bakes, the other holds the fan by the alarm in the hall. Oh what joy it is.

An Extra Special FHE

The YSA here has their FHE on Tuesday nights. Last night the lesson was given by a recently returned missionary who served in Taiwan. He told us about their culture and about buddhism. Then he related it all to finding happiness, and how the whole world's quest is to find happiness. But they can't do it on their own. They're failing. We are so lucky to have this happiness and knowledge. We need to spread it. I had an investigator friend with me last night. She also brought her boyfriend. Everything that was said in the lesson last night was pretty much exactly what I wanted her to know. I was really happy and grateful that we could have that lesson. Trevor disappeared just before the lesson got started. Perhaps to call his roomate and chastise him for not being there? I dunno. He came back about 45 minutes later, right at the end. I was kind of sad he didn't get to hear it so we could discuss it later on. But oh well. He came and sat on my lap (because all the seats were full). He grabbed my hand and started playing with my CTR ring. He took it off the middle finger and slipped it onto my ring finger. He's done this before and he always gives me that "someday" look. I whispered to him to cut it out and quit playin' with me. "Fine," Said he. Then I noticed he put it in his pocket. "Hey!" I whispered. "Give me my ring back! What are you doing?" He whispered "Fine. " And slipped it on my ring finger again. I went to go put it on it's rightful finger, but it wasn't my CTR ring. This one had diamonds. And it was really, really pretty. "What is that?" I whispered. He was grinning ear to ear. "Are you joking? This is a joke. You're kidding. What is that?" All he whispered was "Will you marry me?" I started crying and kissing him and kissing him and crying and kissing him. Somewhere in there I'm sure I said yes. Still, everyone around us is oblivious to what's going on as they make this weeks announcements. Then they realized we were kissing a lot. I started hearing "Hey, you two!" or "Hey! That's innappropriate!" or "Get a room!" I finally found my breath to say "He just proposed to me!" between sobs. Everyone just stared. I don't think they understood. Maybe I didn't speak as clearly as I thought I had. After a few minutes of them just staring, I said "We have an announcement! We're engaged!" Everybody still just stared. I think I heard crickets. Finally it soaked in, and rounds of congratulations were heard all around. Yeah, it was a pretty special FHE.

A few of my favorite things

The rare, but breathtaking sunset.
Choosing ugly outfits at the mall to dress up, and make others dress in.

My pink silk alligator dress, my big chunky necklace, and my black boots. I make this look good.

My belt collection and the trucker hat Trev gave me.

One day, Trevor took his shoes off, but his socks decided to stay behind. Just one of those random funny things that happens sometimes.

I apologize for the lack of pictures throughout my entire vacation. My camera's battery was very dead. I didn't get much, but what I did get, I'll share. Also, our luggage took a little longer to get there. Go airlines! So I didn't have my camera the whole time. I know, excuses, excuses.

I had a lot of fun and I really loved Trevor's family. His little cousins were so cute and all his family was so enjoyable to be around. It was nice to see where he grew up. It was great hearing all his embarrassing stories. Heaven knows he's heard his fair share of mine. (Thanks Mary!) I'm thankful they took me in and made me feel at home for my first Christmas away from my family.

Christmas Day

After all the present were opened, Trevor's dad, Micheal, asked what we'd like to do all day. I said "Go to the beach!"

What I didn't realize is that when the Williams family goes to the beach. They really go to the beach.

The men started the first project.

Meanwhile, the boys happily built sand castles just to destroy them over and over.

For lack of snow.

Here's California's version of a snowman. He's our sand dude.

Jaba the hut

Chris tried to "fix" the head, but it crumbled. So we renamed our snowman Jaba the Hut. Either that or a Hershey's Kiss.
We even had the kids working. Hayden was in charge of throwing and eating sand, and trash cleanup.

Hard work

Everyone worked hard at our next project. I did a little in the tail area, just so I could take partial credit. But really, it was all them.

Shark attack!

You wouldn't believe it! Trevor tamed the beast!

Then I got on. It looked safe.

But it wasn't. He bucked us off and went after me! Swim away!
Luckily, we tamed him again, and we all posed for a picture.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

The day before we flew out, we visited the aquarium with the whole gang. The animals were unusually aggressive! Just look at that clam attacking us!

Monkey see, monkey do.

Trevor fell asleep on the couch next to his brother Tyler's new stuffed animal. I went to wake him, but couldn't figure out which one to shake.
Needless to say, I guessed wrong.

Christmas Decorating

I know this is a little outdated, but the holiday season is hectic and now I have time to update this! I didn't have much (or any) money this season, but my apartment just didn't have any holiday magic, so out of boredom and Christmas spirit, I got creative. I had some leftover party streamers and colored paper. I made a tree, and then Trevor came over and we made ornaments. It made me happy. My roomate liked the holiday cheer too. We were both very sick of our big white wall too. But after my beautiful mother sent me real ornaments (too heavy for the wall) I decided to decorate other things in the living room.
My roomates cactus. Also, Bonnie gave me a pretty ornament for Hannukah. I hung it on the cactus, but I guess this pic was taken before then.

Ooh, and then the palm tree!
